Do bed bugs spread disease?
News reports on bed bugs in Dubai say there is no evidence that they transmit disease. If bites become infected or you have a strong reaction, see a doctor.
Can bed bugs fly or jump?
No. They cannot fly; they spread by hitching a ride in luggage, second-hand furniture and on public transport.
Why do bed bug quotes in Dubai vary so much?
Starting prices usually cover one visit on the smallest option, while bed bugs often need follow-up visits, extra rooms or heat treatment. Ask for the total for the whole programme before you book.
Is it legal to use pesticide tablets for bed bugs?
No. Aluminium phosphide tablets and 'bombs' are banned for home use in the UAE and have caused deaths. Report sellers to Dubai Municipality on 800900.
